About OkieLive

From Lawton Arts And Entertainment

Music Website:

For Musicians, Venues, & Audiences

What started as a calendar to keep track of their musician friends, turned into an interactive website for Randy and Lynna Warren of Lawton.

Their website,
www.OkieLive.com was launched in 20 I0 to follow "who was playing where" in southwest Oklahoma. "Tulsa has a big music scene, but I couldn't find an online site that showcased all the artists playing live music in our part of the state. In addition, we were surprised by how many musicians-were without video or great headshots to use for promotion.

As a professional photographer, Randy loves taking pictures at events. Many of the singers and bands we've seen this past year have asked to use our media", notes Lynna. The Warrens also created the OkieLive.com version for Facebook where the public can see footage of live performances and photos of the bands.

In the plans for www.OkieLive.com are pages for photos and music videos. Lynna states, "On any given night, you can find live music being played somewhere nearby." The OkieLive.com calendar allows you to search by date, artist, or venue in order to find the perfect live music experience you had in mind. In addition, it provides you a map to the location. "You can even take advantage of our mobile site to access the calendar using your smart phone or iPad," adds Randy. You can also follow OkieLive on twitter at @OkieLive to get updates on new listings and daily event reminders.

Musicians and venues can submit their gigs through the online form or by emailing okielive@gmail.com. Oklahoma bands and musicians can also send a short bio, along with a photo and their website links, and they will be featured on the Musicians page. These promotional services are provided free of charge. "We just want people to get out and support Oklahoma musicians and live music venues," said Randy, "And when you are out, don't forget to drop something in those tip jars!"
